Senior DevOps Engineer in FinTech

A mid-sized fintech company focused on real-time payments and fraud detection is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer. You will be working on the company’s core transaction processing and risk-scoring platform, which handles millions of daily financial events across web and mobile applications.

The environment is AWS-based and heavily containerized. The stack includes EKS, EC2, RDS (PostgreSQL), Redis, S3, and VPC networking. Infrastructure is managed via Terraform. CI/CD pipelines are built in GitHub Actions with container deployments through Docker and Kubernetes. Monitoring is handled using Datadog and CloudWatch. Must-have skills include deep experience with AWS production environments, Kubernetes cluster management, infrastructure as code with Terraform, and building reliable CI/CD pipelines. Strong scripting in Bash or Python is required. Pluses include experience with PCI-compliant environments, performance tuning for high-throughput APIs, and implementing automated security controls in financial systems.

You will design and maintain production infrastructure, improve deployment automation, reduce system latency, and ensure high availability of transaction services. You will partner with backend engineers to optimize application performance, manage scaling strategies for peak payment volumes, and implement monitoring and alerting standards. You will also lead incident response efforts and drive post-mortem improvements to prevent recurrence.
