Database Project Manager (Hybrid Technical / Client-Facing Role)

A Global Professional Services Firm is looking for a Database Project Manager (DB PM) who can balance client engagement with hands-on technical execution. In this role, you ll manage enterprise database projects, lead pre-sales and delivery efforts, and work closely with our cloud and AI engineering teams. Half your time will focus on project leadership and client interaction, and the other half on physical and logical database engineering.

Responsibilities:

• Manage full lifecycle of database projects: scoping, planning, delivery, and support.
• Partner with clients, internal cloud, and AI teams to define requirements and deliver solutions.
• Lead pre-sales activities, technical presentations, and solution design discussions.
• Design, implement, and optimize RDBMS and AI-integrated database systems.
• Support datacenter operations, including performance tuning, backup, and migrations.
• Automate and enhance processes using Python and SQL.
• Build Tableau dashboards for analytics, performance metrics, and executive reporting.
• Translate business and AI functional needs into scalable database architectures.

Required Skills:

• 7+ years of combined experience in database engineering and project management.
• Strong technical foundation in RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Experience with datacenter infrastructure and hybrid environments.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Tableau.
• Solid understanding of AI functional workflows and data requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred:

• Familiarity with AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud Platform Cloud SQL, or Snowflake.
• Background with AI/ML data pipelines or analytics systems.
• PMP, Agile, or similar certification.
